Do We Have The Right to Say What's Right or Wrong?

I was lead to this question while brewing my thoughts around "the primordial soup" experiments conducted in the 1950s. Curiosity to understand the origin of life on our planet was the objective. To give you a brief account of this experiment, simple substances like methane, hydrogen, and ammonia were picked (those that were believed to be available in abundance 3.8 billion years ago on young-earth) and passed them through tubes and zapped or electrocuted them (to simulate primeval lightning). Weeks later there was this brown soup they collected as a result of the setup, and in it, they found molecules that were not in any way part of this experiment! Just like that, like magic, molecules appeared. Most notably, amino acids, building blocks of protein was present! However, there's no solid evidence to claim this is how complex systems like us came into being. But these ideas and experiments sure do add stability to our understanding of the origin. In our attempts to de...

Coexistence with nature

I so want to be in some place where birds and animals are not intimidated by people. That speaks a lot about a society's personality.

Clap or Slap?

Give yourself a clap, for you are a gene that survived billions of years of unsympathetic tests you were put through to see if you are worthy enough to be a part of evolution and you still exist. Billions of species came into existence and perished, but you are still standing. You survived every roadblock evolution threw your way. You still exist! Did you? Your species' victory..can it be attributed to you? Millions of worthy species that proved their worthiness in terms of adaptability to survive are now going extinct not because they have suddenly become unworthy but your species' parasitic behavior chooses the worthy ones to perish and unworthy ones to thrive. Artificial selection in its full swing is what it is. You are not worthy just because you exist. Become truly worthy of your existence by always seeking out objective knowledge and truth. Burdens your mind with objective truth that brings deep awareness, and unburden your mind through sound actions. ...

A Dance for Balance Between Freedom and Discipline

The obsession to attain the balance between freedom and discipline leads a person to possess practical maturity. A person with freedom but without discipline wanders aimlessly and fails to tap into his or her infinite potential, ends up not amounting to anything of significance. A person with discipline but when fails to acknowledge freedom of self, will not only fail to enrich their lives but also stands in the way of the evolution of his or her species. Without attaining the balance between freedom and discipline one cannot play a constructive part in a society's politics. Like every individual has their own personality, every society has its own. Quite often the concept of freedom and discipline are polarized by two divisions of people who recognize themselves as left (freedom) and right (discipline). From childhood, we are fed stories after stories about what is good and bad, what is just and unjust, so on and so forth. This basically lays the foundation for solid world views ...

Be careful what you wish for..

Sending off your beloved one to the war (in reference to 1939 WW2), you as a mother or wife, you would be careful what you wish for. You don't wish in your heart for him to come back soon. Coming back could mean he is getting back to you in a coffin box before the war is over. Though you know the war is eating him bit by bit in all possible ways. Though you know he will never be the same person once you knew dearly..now slipping away and deteriorating physically and mentally. You still make your wish carefully with the deepest pain that keeps you awake at nights...you still want him in one piece and alive. Good or bad. You wish him to be there as long as the war is won or over and get back to you in one piece.

Pick Your Fights Carefully

From womb to tomb, we are bound to others, past and present, and by each crime and every kindness, we birth our future. David Mitchell (Cloud Atlas) You were in a hunter-gatherer tribe once. You had to fight for your survival and your tribe's from dangers of all kinds that lurked in the jungle. You have tamed yourselves to become this civilized and evolved being. Your dangers have taken their subtlest form now. You are not fighting for your survival anymore. Animals in the jungle no more pose a threat to you, they are the ones who need protection from you. Fights to fill your stomach is no more a struggle, but gluttony is! With all the comforts and pleasures if you presume you are safe and protected, your naivety is sinking you into a dark and steep abyss that's waiting to steal your soul. It is now more than ever you have a need to fight, fight for survival, survival of your truth. The essence of this evolution is always at stake and the few enlightened souls are the o...

Self-fulfilling Prophecy

A black cat crosses in front of us left to right. My friend says, "it's a bad omen! we should stay indoors". I dump him at home and go about my business. When I come back I find him sitting in a chair with a bandage all over his right hand! Slipped in the bathroom and broke his hand he says. I am petting the black cat while listening to the story.
